Transportation Coordinator
Piazza Produce offers a wide array of produce, locally sourced goods, specialty items, and more. Piazza Produce delivers to over 150 surrounding cities including Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, and Michigan. This allows us a large distribution network in which we are able to back haul and deliver products from producers who need help distributing their products.
Essential Functions:
- Arrive at dock before shuttles arrive
- Prepare dock and trucks for loading
- Assist unloading shuttles and loading of route trucks
- Track all driver's preparation for routes and confirm on-time departure
- Communicate all route issues, including late dispatches, breakdowns, etc
- Assist any route deemed behind or too heavy
- Fill-in route delivery for vacations, call-offs, emergency shipments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse inside and out
- Drive a company Sprinter van to assigned customer locations
- Perform inspections of trucks as required
- Operate pallet jack to move pallets of product as necessary to load onto truck or reposition in warehouse
- Stack boxes of produce onto hand truck
- Wheel hand truck loaded with produce out back of truck and place location specified by customer
- Collect money from customers as necessary
- Comply with all employee responsibilities, rules of conduct, and company polices

- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of transportation, logistics, or fleet coordination experience
- Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems
- Hold a For-Hire Endorsement driver’s license
- Maintain insurability on company’s commercial auto insurance program
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently
Schedule:
- Monday – Saturday (off on either Tuesdays or Thursdays)
- Hours: 1:00am – 11:00am
Compensation:
- $18.00-$22.00/hour
Physical Demands:
- Climb (up and down) stairs and ramps with loaded two-wheel dolly
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for extended periods of time
- Stand for long periods of time
