Get Fresh Produce started in 1982 as a retail produce store in Chicago, specializing in premium fresh fruit, vegetables, specialty foods, and dairy. Get Fresh is supported by an amazing team of sales, customer service, procurement, and operations professionals. Get Fresh Produce executes distribution of more than 13 million cases annually to 3,000 customers.

We work every day to drive consistency in the areas most important to our customers: Customer Service, Quality, Food, Safety, Reporting, Technology.

Essential Functions:

  • Operational Excellence – Oversee day to day operations, to ensure smooth and efficient workflow, including managing fleet, material handling equipment - MHE, employees and building appearance.
  • Team Leadership – Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of skilled employees, and managers to deliver exceptional service to our customers. Supporting the transportation dept, on routing optimization and review of standard routes on a quarterly basis.
  • Customer and Employee Satisfaction - Maintain a strong commitment to customer and employee satisfaction, and morale. By ensuring high quality customer service and service delivery by addressing all employee and customer concerns timely.
  • Business Development – Identify growth opportunities and implement strategies to expand and optimize our company’s presence in the marketplace.
  • Safety Compliance – Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed, providing a safe work environment for all team members. Attend monthly meetings with all GF network members.
  • Inventory Management – Oversee inventory control, warehouse flow to optimize resources and minimize waste and or damage, mis picks, errors and ensure correct receiving practices are being followed.
  • Financial Oversight – Monitor and manage day to day business aspects of the operations, to ensure hours are in line with budget, review key performance indicators – (KPIs). Budgets, financial reports.
  • Food Safety - Participate in Food Safety to maintain compliance across the distribution center to exceed all SQF standards.

  • At least 10+ years Food Distribution/Manufacturer and 7+ years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a related field is preferred
  • Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems.

 Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for extended periods of time

 Work Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday (must be available to work weekends and holidays as required)

Compensation:

  • $100,000/Year + MIP (Management Incentive Plan or Bonus)
