Transportation Manager
Get Fresh Produce started in 1982 as a retail produce store in Chicago, specializing in premium fresh fruit, vegetables, specialty foods, and dairy. Get Fresh Produce executes distribution of more than 13 million cases annually to 3,000 customers.

We work every day to drive consistency in the areas most important to our customers: Customer Service, Quality, Food, Safety, Reporting, Technology.
Essential Functions:
- Daily dispatch of drivers and assigning all equipment needed for the day
- Route - Routes and Mapping of routes for effectiveness and route efficiencies, to ensure on time deliveries to customers
- Ability to review samsara cold chain and driver compliance management.
- Directly supervise drivers, yard spotters, fleet
- Hands on management including ride-a longs for coaching and training as needed
- Communicate service issues to sales, customer service, and Operations teams
- Works closely with Dispatch personnel on all opportunities related to the business needs
- Coordinates with Operations to ensure customer, and driver needs are met
- Participate in the hiring of Drivers: interviews, road tests, paperwork, and administrative task
- Participate in Safety investigations; review and reporting with root-cause analysis
- Conduct and hold monthly driver meetings on current performance with customer base
- Perform review of all driver payroll hours in Kronos system
- Comply with and review all HOS in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Work closely with vendors to schedule PM’s, Repairs, Rental Equipment for the Fleet
- Preparing driver schedules, approving time off requests, discipline and attendance issues
Competencies, Education, and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in transportation with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Transportation or Warehousing experience in the Food industry a plus
- Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems.
- Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily, bilingual a plus
- CDL Class A or B license is a plus
- Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements

Physical Demands:
- Travel as required
- Stand or sit for long periods of time
- Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for extended periods of time
Compensation:
- $70,000 - $80,000/Year
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Saturday (Sunday off and 1 day of during the week)
- Must be available to work holidays as required
- Start time: 7:00pm – 5:00am
