Essential Functions:

  • Assist in monitoring the entire product ripening and conditioning processes from receiving to shipping
  • Assist in maintaining an efficiency program for the most productive utilization of the ripening rooms
  • Improve inventory turns and reduce shrink
  • Explore and develop ripening and conditioning for additional products such as avocados and tomatoes
  • Assist in maintaining a documented sanitation preventive maintenance program
  • Practice all warehouse and food safety procedures

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 1 year of recent and successful experience performing the above functions in a significant produce distribution operation complete with skills in product ripening and conditioning, product quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for ethylene produce products.
  • Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office and common E-Mail systems
  • Valid identification or driver’s license (if appropriate)

Physical Demands:

  • Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for short periods of time
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Stand or sit for long periods of time

Compensation:

  • $21.00/hour

Schedule:

  • 7:00am – until work is completed
  • 5 days/week with working either a Saturday or Sunday
  • Mandatory Holiday shifts
