Dock Sales Associate

Essential Functions:
- Open dock sales area, including opening safe and counting the cash register
- Take customer orders in person or over the phone who want to pick up produce from our facility
- Collect payments and operate the cash register
- Respond to customer inquires
- Research required information using available resources
- Handle and resolve customer complaints
- Provide customers with product and service information
- Identify and escalate priority issues
- Follow up on customer calls where necessary
- Sell additional products by recognizing opportunities to upsell accounts; explaining latest items or featured product
- Perform daily inventory in 1 Cooler utilizing scan guns to ensure accurate product tracking
- Assign and assist with re-pack activities as needed to support operational demands
- Assign and palletize orders for selectors as needed
- Assign dock doors and communicate incoming load details to Receiving to maintain efficient dock operations
- Load trucks, trailers and vehicles with forklift, pallet jack or by hand
- Responsible for pulling assigned customer orders and verifying product dates per customer requirements
- Secure and wrap pallets by hand to ensure product stability during transport
- Report damages, shortages or quality issues to supervisor
- Operate equipment(e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks) safely in accordance with company and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Comply with all applicable OSHA and Food Safety regulations
Competencies, Education, and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 3 years successful related sales experience with an understanding and knowledge of produce food service or retail related products (as assigned)
- Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office and common E-Mail systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening skills

- Organized and attention-to-detail approach
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (5:00am – 1:00pm)
Compensation:
- $21.00/hour
Physical Demands:
- Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for short periods of time
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Stand or sit for long periods of time
